The JG project was very interesting because Helen came to use with just a name and an idea. So virtually everything had to be created. Jehovah’s Gardener combines Christianity with gardening. Not being avid gardeners here at Rorah, we really spent some time reaching out to people who are. What looks good to us might not translate with a gardener.
We found that gardeners aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty; in fact, most of them love it. You’re not going to find bright, shiny, and clean tools in the avid gardener’s work shed. Everything from the logo to the website design reflects a rugged, worn, and earthy feel. We designed the homepage to resemble the aesthetic of a gardener’s work bench. As non-gardeners, we were able to design for gardeners because we bought into the theme: beauty starts in the dirt.
